Brown Rudnick Charitable Foundation Corp., a non-profit foundation established by the law firm of Brown Rudnick Berlack, Israels LLP, is accepting proposals for its 2008 Relationship Grants. The Relationship Grant program seeks to improve inner-city education by developing a relationship with a nonprofit organization that includes providing financial support, pro bono legal representation, and volunteer time.

Relationship Grants are awarded annually to organizations to address the educational needs of less enfranchised individuals and groups in the geographic areas of Boston, Hartford, New York City, and/or Providence, RI and Washington, D.C. The foundation plans to award at least one Relationship Grant for a proposal which seeks to provide an innovative means to address the issue of school truancy and drop-outs, and invites proposals relating to that issue.

Proposals may be for amounts between $5,000 and $50,000 each. A project encompassing more than one city may exceed this amount up to a total of $75,000. Grants are awarded for one calendar year (2008), with the possibility of renewal for additional periods thereafter.

Grant application forms and an explanation of the program are at the foundation’s Web site, http://www.brownrudnickcenter.com/foundation
